Healthy VS Unhealthy Jealousy In Relationships
In every romantic relationship, there’s jealousy. There are couples that may rarely experience it because they have already put in the years. However, it’s impossible for two people to never feel jealous. We all have our insecurities, and sooner or later, they’re going to come out. Natural as it may be, we have to bear in mind that there is the unhealthy kind of jealousy that may destroy our relationship from within.

Behaviors That Indicate Unhealthy Jealousy
We all know what jealousy is, and we all have ideas in our mind about how our partner may act when jealous. However, we have to watch out for behaviors that could indicate that our partner’s jealousy is becoming toxic to the relationship:
Gathering Information About Your Day
There’s a difference between wanting to know what your partner was up to during the day, and gathering information. You’ll know that it is unhealthy when your partner asks a slew of questions that can feel like an interrogation instead of a genuine interest to know about how your day was.
Always Tagging Along Is A Sign Of Unhealthy Jealousy
You and your partner must have time with each other. But, you also have to have time with friends and family, by yourself. If your partner always expresses that he or she needs to tag along when it is a friend or family night, it’s a red flag.
Looking Through Your Messages
We all have social media and emails. It’s the 21st century! If our partner insists that he or she needs to go through our inboxes, it’s a good sign of unhealthy jealousy. Although you share everything in your relationship, you should still maintain some semblance of privacy to preserve your individuality.
If you spot your partner acting with unhealthy jealousy, you have to talk to him or her, one on one. Ask about the root of the negative emotion, and don’t forget to discuss how both of you can move forward. It may be a difficult conversation to do, but if you go through with it, you’ll emerge a stronger couple. For more updates and dating tips, read other posts on the blog.
