What To Do When You’ve Realized That You’ve Lost Yourself
As we grow old, it’s easy for us to operate on auto-pilot. We wake up in the morning, we fix ourselves for work, we have breakfast, and so on. It’s easy for us to fall into a routine. The same goes for when we are in relationships. We get into our comfort zone and we stay there for a long time. Sooner or later, you realize that you’ve already lost yourself. Where did your passion and individuality go?
How To Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone After You’ve Lost Yourself
Losing yourself is basically losing your identity and your sense of passion. You’re ok with just waking up, and going through the motions of life. You’ve become predictable and boring. There’s always a solution though, so don’t worry.
1. Take Time To Reflect
For you to have a clear idea of what needs fixing, you need to reflect on your current life status. Where are you, currently? How do you feel about your current state? It is possible that you’re working too much? It is these kinds of questions that you need to answer.
2. Action A Day At A Time
When you’ve figured out the aspects of your life that need a bit of reviving, you can act on your action plan. Think big thoughts but break those thoughts down into bite-size pieces. Do small actions one day at a time. You are going through a process and not a race, remember that.
3. Get Old Passions Back
What were you passionate about when you were younger? Maybe it’s time to devote a bit of your time to these old passions of yours. Was it sports? Was it exercising? Whatever it was, try doing them again to awaken your dull veins.
4. Never Make Excuses
In your process, you’re going to be tempted to revert back to your old ways. Find the discipline to stop yourself from doing this. Even if you are struggling, that’s good. It means that you are moving out and away from your comfort zone which is the main goal.
Don’t let your individuality die down again. Strike a balance between doing your responsibilities and doing what makes you happy. For more tips, read more posts on our blog.
